Caissie Levy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Caissie Levy (born ca. 1981[1] in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian stage actress and singer.

Levy's big break came when she played the role of Penny Pingleton in both the Broadway and US national tour companies of Hairspray. She also played the role of Maureen Johnson in the US national tour of Rent. Levy recently starred as Elphaba in the Los Angeles company of the Broadway musical Wicked after being the standby for Eden Espinosa and understudying the role on Broadway for both Julia Murney and Stephanie J. Block.[2] Levy departed the Los Angeles cast on May 11, 2008 along with co-star Kristoffer Cusick. She was replaced by Elphaba standby Teal Wicks.
