Caipirina

CAIPIRINA is a project of the ftw. (Research Center for Telecommunications Vienna) and is the abbreviation for: Convergence towards All-IP: IMS Re-alization Issues for NGN Applications.

The CAIPIRINA-project (“N9”) is a follow-up of CAMPARI and SIMS and is based on the results of these projects and focuses on aspects arising while IMS is deployed on top of existing (mobile) networks, which are:

  • Detailed Performance evaluations for various scenarios
  • Feasibility and Performance of different Application Server Architectures
  • IMS deployment and service orchestration
  • IMS services (location/presence, Real-Time (RT), near RT, 3rd party applications)
  • Problems with IPv4 in IMS and migration to-wards IPv6
  • Perceptual Quality of Service (QoS)
  • IMS-charging and IMS-security
  • IMS inter-working with other IMS-test-beds and live IMS-networks
