Café Bräunerhof is a classic Viennese café and restaurant at Stallburggasse 2 in the First District, near the Habsburg city palace. Bräunerhof is most known for being the famous author Thomas Bernhard's preferred café. Today there is a vitrine showing a picture of the author and pointing the direction to the café on a street corner nearby. Every saturday there is live music at the café with a small orchestra playing waltzes and classical music.

Bräunerhof has probably the largest selection of newspapers of all cafés in Vienna. According to its owner in 1996, the café spent 1600 dollars monthly on newspapers. [1].
