Cabinteely
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cabinteely (Cabán tSíle in Irish, meaning "Sheila's Cabin") is an Irish village in the suburbs of Dublin in the Republic of Ireland, in the administrative county of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown and the Dáil constituency of Dún Laoghaire. Once a rural village in County Dublin, it has in the past 20-30 years become a suburb of the greater Dublin area and is becoming an increasingly popular residential area with several new apartment and housing developments (eg. The Low Carbon development "Watermint"). According to the most recent census (to 2006) the population of the Cabinteely area is 12,698.
The Luas Line B1 which is currently under construction is due to pass close by Cabinteely, with stops at Brennanstown and Laughanstown.

[edit] Getting there
[edit] By Car
Cabinteely can be accessed from the north by following the "Stillorgan Dual Carriage-Way", the N11, south. A sign indicates the turn off to the right. (Note that you can't turn right into the village at Johnstown Road any longer, but you must take the previous right at Clonkeen Road as sign posted). From the south, follow the N11, turning left at the footbridge off the dual carriage-way. It is also accessible from the M50 by taking Exit 15.
