The Cabinet of Sri Lanka is the council of cabinet ministers , responsible to parliament. The Cabinet is appointed by the President under the advice of the Prime Minister and serve at his pleasure. Officially the prime minister is the head of the cabinet, but the cabinet is chaired by the president and is the ed-facto head of the cabinet. The Cabinet meets several times a week to discuss vital issues. Outside of the cabinet there are a number of junior ministers, these include non-cabinet ministers and deputy ministers under reporting directly to a senior minister.
