Cabatangan

Cabatangan is a barrio/barangay in Zamboanga City with Pasonanca (north) and Santa Maria (south) as its boundaries. The barrio was used to be the regional complex of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao until 2001. The now abandoned ARMM Legislative Building, together with the statue of Apo Sumayang Galura, is one of the attractions in the city. Cabatangan is known for the siege and hostage of its residents by the MILF in November 27,2001, which was lasted for a day and hostages were freed. Bong Bue, a local journalist, was one of the residents being hostaged by a terrorist group similar to Abu-Sayyaf.
