Somebody appears to have tampered with this to remove the functionality of the wiki=yes parameter. Gene Nygaard

Rather, it does what it says; but it is a different use of that parameter than what is used in other similar templates. Most templates use some parameter called "link" or "lk" to achieve the linking, and use a parameter called "wiki" or the like to spell out the units in the first part, and use symbols for the result. I assume you are referring to {{Convert}}, which introduced "lk" and the like? This template was created before Convert's functionality was enhanced, so, if it is inconsistent now, you are telling off the wrong people :) Also, I didn't quite understand your description of the "wiki" parameter as used by other templates (which ones?).
