[edit] Cleanup taskforce

Hi, I have added a task to your desk. Andreww 05:29, 24 September 2005 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for the cleanup of Captain George Shelvocke. You had done most of the things needed to close the task -- all I did was change the taskforce closed tag from {{cleanup taskforce closed|}} to {{cleanup taskforce closed|Captain George Shelvocke}} and added [[Wikipedia:Cleanup taskforce closed/Captain George Shelvocke]] to Wikipedia:Cleanup Taskforce/closed. Cheers. Andreww 06:31, 8 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Peetiewheatstraw.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Peetiewheatstraw.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 23:37, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Article on Reeves James

This article was listed under cleanup for February 11th. RJFJR and I went over it for grammatical errors and style, but the facts need checking. Could you take a look at it? Mgummess 23:23, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

I agree with you. How do you go about getting an article removed? I'm a new user, and I'm not familiar with the standing policy.
I've added it to the list of proposed deletions so it will be dealt with in the next few days, hopefully. C i d 10:15, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup Taskforce

Greetings. You are receiving this boilerplate notice because you have a task on your Cleanup Taskforce desk that has not been updated for over 30 days. If you do not wish to complete this task please assign it to another active Cleanup Taskforce member who has space on their desk. If you do not wish to receive cleanup requests on your desk any more, you may remove yourself from the membership list. If you or someone else has completed the task, you can close it by adding {{cleanup taskforce closed|ARTICLE NAME HERE}} to the article's talk page and removing it from Wikipedia:Cleanup Taskforce. If you have a status update (e.g. you intend to work on it in the future) or need help, you can update the collaboration page (which is linked from your desk). Also feel free to reply to the person who left you this message. --Randy 19:47, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Joseph Magliocco.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Joseph Magliocco.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 18:41, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

I think a link to the website where this image was taken from should suffice. --Fritz S. (Talk) 19:37, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Weetabix

Hi! I have reverted your additions to the above article. If you are able to provide some references then please do not hesitate re-adding your additions. Thanks, --Ali K 14:04, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Not being able to provide a web-based reference definitely does not mean it isn't true. I was trying to maintain references for the article, but you are entirely right, you titled it "trivia" and hence should not really need a reference. My justification is that I was making sure you had not made it up off the top of your head. Now I know you heard it on the radio (and many others are sure to have heard it as well) I think it is back to where it should be. Sorry for the inconvenience. --Ali K 14:25, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bonanno Crime Family

Hi, indeed, I assume you refer to Little Joe Shots. I agree that his contributions amount to a lot of uncorrobarated fairy tales. He is not only trashing the Bonnano article but every US Mafia Family article and the Apalachin Meeting article as well (see his Contributions log). I already put a request for verification on the Bonnano and Apalachin article, but he seems to be totally unresponsive. Maybe we should revert to the pre-Little Joe Shots versions to make him aware that there are some serious doubts about his contributions. Mafia Expert 15:38, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

OK, we will give him some time. On the other hand his contributions are making the articles unreadable and do not fit the WP standards. He has to be more concise or we have to revert to the previous versions. --Mafia Expert 15:53, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

I have changed the tag from "verify" into "disputed" and asked for references. If not I think we should revert to the pre-Little Joe Shots version. --Mafia Expert 17:54, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup Taskforce

Are you interested in working on the article about the guitarist Kevin_Cadogan? RJFJR 17:35, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Yeah I'll take that on in the next couple of days. C i d 20:59, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

It's on your desk. Thank you. RJFJR 22:18, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for the fast job. You know what they say about if you do a good job, you get more work? Well... I jut added Wikipedia:Cleanup Taskforce/Gob (band) to your desk. accept, reject or let me know and I'll reassign it, please. Thank you. RJFJR 14:38, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Trashing of Mafia article

Hello, Little Joe Shots is now trashing the Mafia article. I reverted his editions to the previous version, and left this message:

I have reverted the edits of Little Joe Shots. This contributor is regurlarly trashing articles on Mafia related issues with unreferenced, unreliable, badly written contributions that lack Wikipedia standards. -- Mafia Expert 11:42, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

I think this user has to be stopped trashing articles and damaging the contributions of other people. Is there something we can do about this? -- Mafia Expert 11:52, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Vincent_mangano.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Vincent_mangano.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 11:20, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Vincent_mangano.jpg

Hi, Thank you for uploading Image:Vincent_mangano.jpg,however it would be much appreciated if you could expand or clarify the sourcing information you have provided in the image summary., In particular which law enforcment agency took the picture? ShakespeareFan00 11:20, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Genovese crime family

Hi,

I saw your recent post on this article's talk page, and I'm inclined to agree that the length and style of the article have become absurd. I've temporarily taken the rather dramatic approach of reverting the article back to a much earlier, shorter version, as I think this is a better starting point for fixing the article than trying to edit the long version down, and also because it gives readers something usable in the mean time.

I'd be grateful for your thoughts on what approach to take going forward on this article, or alternatively, your opinion on whether I've gone too far here!

Best regards, Oli Filth 18:39, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup Taskforce

There are two articles on your desk. Please look at them and determine if they are ready to be closed, need more work or are outside your area of expertise. Let me know if you'd like the reassigned or are ready for more tasks. Thank you. RJFJR 16:00, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup Taskforce

Please feel free to assign yourself tasks from the list of unassigned tasks at Wikipedia:Cleanup Taskforce. Arranging assignments is too much work for me to do by myself. We have a large backlog of unassigned tasks and there is probably something in there that will interest you. RJFJR 22:16, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Unbookables

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article The Unbookables, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 09:04, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed deletion of The Unbookables

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article The Unbookables, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Deiz talk 01:51, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
