[edit] Fair use in article Lost in Reverie
Although this image is subject to copyright, its use is covered by the United States fair use laws because:
- It's a low resolution copy of the original album's cover.
- Use of the image doesn't limit the copyright owner's rights to sell the album in any way, but in fact may encourage sales.
- Because of its low resolution copies of it could not be used to make any illegal copies of the image.
- Its sole use is to identify the album in question within the article.
- The image is significant because it was, and is, used to promoted the album.
[edit] Image Source
- The image was derived from digital capture (photo/scan) of the album's cover art. The creator of this digital version is irrelevant as copyright in all equivalent images is still held by the same party. Copyright is held by the record label, Mnemosyne. Claimed as fair use regardless.
