The C hurch Missionary Scoeity had it first Mission started at Alleppey by Rev. Thomas Norton who at the request of Munro supervised the starting of the College at Kottayam in association with the Malankara Syrian church. Soon other Missioanries joined in, Rev. Banjamin Bailey in charge of the Kottayam Villge Mission, Rev. Joseph Fenn in charge of the College and Rev. Henry baker in charge of the Kotayam District Mission. The great contribution of Rev. Benjamin Bailey is three fold, in Bible Translation, introduction of Printing and building of the Anglican Church at Kottayam which is the present CSI Cahtedral.
