David Baker is the 4th commissioner of the Arena Football League. He started in the league as the owner of the Anaheim Piranhas. One of his more imposing features is his size - 6 feet 9 inches tall and nearly 400 pounds, making him, literally, the biggest commissioner in American sports.[citation needed] He was a power forward at UC-Irvine from 1971-75 and played two seasons of professional basketball in Europe. Later, Baker attended Pepperdine University School of Law where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. He is a former Mayor of Irvine, California.[citation needed]
His son is Sam Baker of the Atlanta Falcons.
