The Rt. Rev. Christopher Birdwood Roussel SARGENT (舒展), born on June 4, 1906, was a missionary of the Anglican Church. He graduated from the Cambridge University and worked as a schoolmaster of physics in Wellington College, Sandhurst, New Zealand. Invited by Bishop C. R. Duppuy of Victoria, he became the headmaster of the Diocesan Boys' School, Hong Kong in 1932. He was ordained as a deacon in 1934 and took up the post of the bishop of the Diocese of Fukien in 1938. Bishop Sargent died of malaria in Foochow on August 8, 1943.
