[edit] Michael Guy

All is not lost; membership in a notable band is sufficient to be inelligible for speedy deletion; I removed the tag. It may still be deleted after WP:AFD, but it's around now and if improved may survive an AFD challenge. Carlossuarez46 02:42, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Origins

The band has been deleted, you may wish to tag the album as well "Anthrosects in Effigy EP". Cheers, Carlossuarez46 04:09, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Category:Jazz rock albums

Jazz fusion is just an umbrella genre for various subgenres, such as smooth jazz, jazz rock, crossover jazz and free funk. Somewhat like jazz is just an umbrella genre for bebop, hard bop, dixieland, free jazz, etc. Jazz rock is a legitimate subgenre of jazz fusion, and therefore shall remain. [edit] SWK

The article does not mention his name for several very good reasons, beginning with the fact that it's not encyclopedic. Please see the extensive discussion on the matter on the article talk page. Do not reinsert it. Thanks. FCYTravis 02:16, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Purex (Laundry detergent)

Hello. You removed my CSD tag on the Purex (Laundry detergent) article, claiming it to be "one of the most widely available detergents, surely notable". Nothing on Wikipedia is "surely notable", which is why documents must contain sources and references to back up the claims. Nobody in the UK will have heard of Purex unless they have been to the States as it isn't available here. I saw the name for the first time when reading this very short article. I assume the facts stated in the article are true, but Wikipedia doesn't work on assumptions and common knowledge, it works on verifiable sources. Please feel free to add some sources to the article to prove its notability. If none are forthcoming I will flag it again for deletion. One final thing, the CSD flags are a request to administrators to check articles. In my view, unless obviously and clearly placed on an article as part of a disruptive vandalism campaign, only administrators should remove csd flags. B1atv 09:13, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pop Mod: Need Some Insight

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Pumpmeup

Seems this guy is throwing his weight around and threatning people with bans for edits that he cites as "vandalizm", could you back up his claims by looking at what he reverted for each, or is he abusing his power? Thanks in any case. I dont like being warned for something as mundane as Living Next Door To Alice

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Ultimate adventure.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Ultimate adventure.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:00, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Μu-law algorithm

Hi. You were tricked as well. Mu-law algorithm is a good redirect but Μu-law algorithm is not!!! The first has only Latin letters, the second has a mistake. ONLY the first letter is a Greek letter. Check that the first one has many links to it and the second none!! So:

Friendly, Magioladitis (talk) 20:42, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

I don't think you were allowed to remove my tag since you are not an administrator. Thanks. -- Magioladitis (talk) 21:02, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Arsham Parsi

Thanks for removing the speedy tags. Some knucklehead has been trying to get that article removed all day now. Not only is it a blatant bad faith nom, Arsham is someone I deeply admire for his work with Iranian gay refugees. Your work was appreciated. Jeffpw (talk) 18:15, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

The simplest explanation is often correct, so you're probably right. I immediately assumed it was an operative of the Iranian government, trying to suppress dissent (see my userpage for my stance on the issue). Jeffpw (talk) 18:23, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] User Box

Hey dude, I tweaked your user box. You had a syntax error in there that was messing up the rendering on your user page. Only thing that looks like it's not included is age. Feel free to leave, tweak, or revert if you like. - Dave C.talk | Esperanza —Preceding comment was added at 16:21, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

I know, and it is by no means indicative of my general attitude toward dissension on Wikipedia. In this particular case, however, I apologize for nothing. C1k3 (talk) 07:56, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your comments

Incorrect, I see that you are 22 years of age. Wait until you become older! In any cause you failed to read all wiki policies. Furthermore speech has limits, being Jewish I am sure you will understand this —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thright (talkcontribs) 01:33, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

No, really Wikipedia is not censored. I'm really sorry if you don't like it, but that's the way it is. Also, sorry to C1k3 for responding on your talk page. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 01:38, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
1st Policy, "Reasons for deletion include but are not limited content that does not belong in an encyclopedia. It is clear that this content would not be found in encyclopdia. 2nd,Wikipedia is not a directory." The current form of the article is nothing less than a stub of the word. 2 for starters. 3rd LAW, speech has limits, one is social good. This may be more advanced for some of the users on wiki as I am sure many have not studied law. [edit] Matthew Certner

I saw you tagged the above article for csd with the comment that "it is a vanity page". It is generally not a good idea to use the term "vanity" when describing articles about people for a couple of reasons. First, it is accusatory and discouraging and kind of bitey to new users. Second, calling an article "vanity" could be a defamatory assertion unless you can clearly show they were responsible for it. Just some friendly advice. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! KnightLago (talk) 05:51, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
