[edit] Route description

The western terminus is at a junction with M-119 (N Lake Shore Dr.) and C-77 (State Rd.) in Cross Village a few hundred yards from Lake Michigan. The eastern terminus is at a junction with US 23 and M-27 (the corner of State and Main) in downtown Cheboygan on the west bank of the Cheboygan River just a few hundred yards from Lake Huron.[2] It is also known as Levering Road for most of its length, though it is also known as Cheboygan Road once it enters Beaugrand Township outside Cheboygan and as State St. inside Cheboygan.[1]

A souvenir shop called Sea Shell City is approximately 15 miles south of Mackinaw City on C-66. It is a convenient county designated highway to travel on because it has access to I-75 about halfway between Cheboygan and Cross Village. It is one of 3 highways off of I-75 that lead to Cheboygan with the exception with the US 23 junction in Mackinaw City. There is also a junction with US 31 in Levering.[3]
