(Feb. 16, 2004) – A C-40A Clipper assigned to the “Sunseekers” of Fleet Logistics Support Squadron Five Eight (VR-58) arrives at the Puerto Princesa Airport, carrying U.S. Sailors and Marines participating in Exercise Balikatan 2004. The exercise is an annual bilateral exercise designed to improve combined planning, combat readiness and interoperability of the U.S. and Philippine military forces. It demonstrates U.S. resolve and is consistent with the Mutual Defense Treaty and Visiting Forces Agreement and continues our commitment to train, advise and assist the government of the Philippines.
