César E.Trasobares

César E.Trasobares (born 1949 in Holguin, Cuba), is a Cuban-American artist specializing in Collage, Installation, and Performance.

From 1965 to 1996 he resided in Mexico/Miami, U.S.A. Since 1996 he has resided in New York. In 1970 he studied in the Miami Dade Community College, Associate of Arts, in Miami, Florida. Between 1970-1972 he studied in the Florida Atlantic University (Bachelor of Arts), Florida. And Since 1973 to 1974 he studied at the Florida State University in Miami.

Among his must relevant exhibitions we can mentions in 1978 New Paintings, in Forma Gallery, Coral Gables, in Florida. In 1979 he presented Rosata Quinceañera, Debutanta Glorificata, in Cayman Gallery, in New York, U.S.A. In 1991 he exhibited Recent Rings and other Circles, in the Barbara Gillman Gallery, in Miami, Florida,U.S.A. And in 1996 he presented Body of Work, in the Ambrosino Gallery, Coral Gables, in Florida.

He was part in many collective exhibitions, among them we can quote in 1976 the 38th Annual Exhibition of Contemporary American Painting, in the Society of the Four Arts, in Palm Beach, Florida. In 1991 he was included in Collage Unglued, in the Center of Contemporary Art (COCA), Miami, Florida. In 1993 he participated in Southern Roots. South Florida Invitational, in the Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale, in Florida. And in 1995 he was one of the selected artists to conform To Collect, Conserve, Exhibit and Interpret the Visual Arts Produced by Artists of Cuban Heritage. The New Collection I, in the Museo Cubano de Arte y Cultura, in Miami, Florida.

During his life he has obtained many awards and recognitions, among them one can mention the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, Washington, D.C., in 1979. And in 1980 he obtained the Cintas Foundation Fellowship, in New York.

His works can be found formed part of the important collections such as the Lowe Art Museum, University of Miami, Coral Gables, in Florida, and in the Metropolitan Museum and Art Center, Coral Gables, in Florida.
