[edit] Profile

Celena Francine Alexandra Cherry was born in 1977 in Hammersmith, London. Her parents, Maurice and Lena recognised that even at an early age, Celena had a passion for performing. At the age of four, Cherry attended Ravenscourt Theatre School where she developed her skills as both a singer and actress. In 1993 she left school and got her first record contract with Walt Disney Records as part of a group called 'Illusion'. After two years, Cherry decided to strengthen her skills and went to West Thames College in Isleworth to study film and theatre, and just a year later, a chance meeting brought her the opportunity of fulfilling a dream - by becoming the lead singer of a newly formed girl group, Honeyz.

In 1998, their debut single "Finally Found" reached number four in the UK Singles Chart and stayed in the chart for a further 10 weeks. Similar success followed for their next four singles, "End Of The Line", "Love Of A Lifetime", "Never Let You Down" and "Won't Take It Lying Down". This led to platinum selling UK album, Wonder No. 8 and hits all over the world.

[edit] Solo career

After the failure of the second Honeyz album, Cherry teamed up with her cousin Alani (former Kleshay singer) under the name Anotherside. They released one single together ("This is your Night") through V2 Records. It failed in the UK chart and they never released anything further.

In 2005 Cherry released her first solo album, Celena Cherry, through her official website. This exclusive limited edition CD features new interpretations of some of her Honeyz hits, plus some new material and personal favourites along with a selection of festive songs.

According to Celena's official website, Honeyz are currently recording a new album as a group, following her acting appearances on the soap operas Hollyoaks and Doctors. She is at the same time working on her second solo album. Three new songs ("Gave You My Love", "Grass Ain't Greener" and "Conscience Calling") were posted on her MySpace in March 2006.

Celena just gave birth to her first daughter Sienna-Belle with her husband in February 08.Her husband is Guy Jogoo who is JK and Joels producer on Virgin Radio and also presents the Evening Show on Virgin Radio Classic Rock under the pseudonym Guy Jagger.
