Cégep de Saint-Laurent
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cégep de Saint-Laurent is a Cégep located in the Saint-Laurent borough of the city of Montreal, Quebec. It is a few doors south of Vanier College, another Cégep.
[edit] History
The institution was founded as Collège Saint-Laurent in 1847. Du Collège Street and consequently the Montreal metro station Du Collège were named for it. It was a major feature of St. Laurent, and the reason the town (at that time) was known as a college town.
It was converted into a Cégep in 1968.
[edit] Campus
On the campus of Cégep Saint-Laurent are located the Saint-Laurent Museum of Art and the Saint-Laurent Hockey Rink (one of two civic indoor rinks).
The Saint-Laurent Art Museum is a featured spot on the Montreal Museums Day free tour of Montreal museums.
