Articles by Jack Hemenway, Don Lancaster and Harold Mauch show examples of the Kansas City Standard for data recorded on audio cassettes. At $1000 each, floppy disk drives were too expensive for home computer users.

The 8.25 by 11 inch (21 by 28 cm) magazine has 96 pages.

[edit] Fair Use in Kansas City standard

  • Byte magazine lead an effort to standardize data storage formats on audio cassettes. This was known as the Kansas City standard. This issue provided several design examples for cassette interfaces.
  • The resolution is minimum necessary to read the significant text on the cover.
