I changed parts of this article because it sounded too much like an advertisement for the pianist rather than an objective description of him. I removed the bit claiming that Janis has recorded 'all the most difficult works in the repertoire', since there's no concensus on what the most difficult works are, making it impossible to record all of them, and since several works often regarded as the most difficult works, e.g. Godowsky's reworking of the Chopin etudes for (mainly) left hand, are not in Janis' discography.

[edit] State of the article

This is still way too POV, I believe. I don't feel qualified to rewrite it, though, as I am not that familiar with his career. If nobody else does so, though, I will have a go at it. --Wspencer11 (talk to me...) 01:11, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Janis and Maazel

Since Janis is Maazel's senior by two years, they can't possibly have been 15 at the same time, as implied in the article's third paragraph. I'm not correcting it though, because I'm not sure as to exactly how old they were when the mentioned event took place. It would be good if that could be clarified. According to Glenn Plaskin's Horowitz bio, Janis was 16, Maazel 15.THD3 00:52, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
That was quick, THD3! Thanks. MUSIKVEREIN 13:36, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
