Byron High School (Byron, Minnesota)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Byron High School is located on the north side of Byron, Minnesota.

Byron High School was finished in the fall of 2006 north of Byron. It is located in Byron Independent School district 531 and is the home of the Byron Bears, whose colors are black & gold. It teaches grades 9-12. The principal is Mike Duffy and the superintendent of the school district is Dr. Wendy Shannon. The bears are consistently strong in football, boys' basketball, girls' track, and volleyball. Byron's biggest rivalry is Lourdes High School. However, lately, Lourdes has not been very competitive. This is possibly due to reports of unsportsman like conduct on both sides. Byron High School is also where many of the students from the gratuating class of 2007 were not happy with the move due to the fact that they were moved before their senior year at the old high school which is now the Byron Middle School.

Byron, of late, has fielded one of the most competitive athletic departments in the Hiawatha Valley League.
