Byfleet and New Haw railway station is served by the Waterloo to Woking service, operated by South West Trains. The station is near the northern side of Byfleet and the village of New Haw, near Woking in Surrey, England.
[edit] History
The station was opened in 1927. It was originally called "West Weybridge" and changed to its present name in 1961.
[edit] Service
At off-peak times there are 2 trains per hour north and 2 trains per hour south. Currently the services to Woking are usually at 00 and 30 minutes past the hour and those to London at 11 and 41 minutes past the hour. The station has two platforms and it predominantly served by stopping trains on the Woking to London Waterloo service. At peak times there are around 4 trains an hour to Waterloo. As Byfleet and New Haw is one of the earlier stops on the Waterloo line, passengers getting on here stand a very good chance of getting a seat. The ticket office tends not to be open in the afternoons. Access for disabled passengers is a difficult as passengers traveling in either direction need to negotiate a long staircase. In late 2007 ramps were being added to facilitate wheelchair access.
