Byakko Seishi

The Byakko Seishi are a group of seven celestial warriors from Yuu Watase's manga and anime series Fushigi Yūgi. Only three, Tatara, Tokaki and Subaru are well-developed in the series.

Tatara (婁宿) is a Byakko celestial warrior from Yuu Watase's Fushigi Yūgi (Note: As Hoki does to Nuriko, Tatara bears a striking resemblance to Hotohori.)

Deeply devoted to and in love with the Priestess of Byakko, he faithfully guards the Shinzaho she left behind. Usually remaining in Byakko Temple, he is taken from it by Nakago.
Outside of the Temple, his interior begins to age rapidly as the barrier at Byakko Temple in tandem with Subaru's spell was keeping him young. He takes it upon himself to look after Miaka when she is captured by Nakago and becomes mute under the influence of Miboshi's spell, and is the one to inform her that the wish of staying with the Suzaku Seishi Tamahome was the one wish that the gods [Suzaku, Genbu, Byakko and Seiryu] would not grant.
He is mortally wounded during a battle with Miboshi, and finally dies, and at the same time Suzuno Ōsugi, the Priestess of Byakko dies of old age in the real world. He and Suzuno are then reunited in their eternal rest, as observed by Keisuke and Tetsuya in the anime version and the manga version.
Tatara is very close to his comrades, Tokaki and Subaru, and although they try to save him, Tokaki only manages to rescue Miaka before Chiriko bravely kills Miboshi with himself and Tatara dies.

Tokaki (奎宿) is a Byakko celestial warrior from Yuu Watase's Fushigi Yugi. Married to the beautiful and kind Subaru, another Byakko Celestial Warrior, he traveled around the four cardinal realms after Subaru threw him out of the house due to his wandering eye.
While traveling in Konan, he came across a young Tamahome. Realizing that the bullied child was a Celestial Warrior, he trained Tamahome in martial arts so that he could one day protect his priestess. The pair are reunited when the Suzaku Warriors travel to Sairō to find Byakko's Shinzaho, however it is not a happy reunion. Tokaki knew from experience from being a Celestial Warrior himself that a priestess cannot wish to be with one of her Celestial Warriors because after the priestess fulfills her duty in the book, she must return to her world.
Tokaki, realizing that Tamahome had fallen in love with his priestess, attempts to break them up by encouraging his adopted daughter Xi-Fang into a relationship with Tamahome. He feels that it would be more humane for their love to end willingly, rather than being forced apart at the summoning like his comrade Tatara and their priestess.

Extremely lecherous in nature, Tokaki takes it upon himself to comment on any attractive young woman he comes across, including Miaka.
Although he does look at other women, he loves Subaru dearly and would go to any length to protect her. He also loves Tamahome as a son, and Tatara as a friend. It is suspected that Tokaki and Subaru die together near the end of Fushigi Yuugi as the spell Subaru casts on their bodies has the unforutnate effect of damaging their internal organs beyond repair, but they are seen in the novel version of Eikoden, which takes place 10 years after the original story of the book.

Subaru (昴宿) is a Byakko celestial warrior in Yuu Watase's Fushigi Yugi. She is married to the leacherous Byakko seishi, Tokaki for reasons no one can figure out.

Sweet and nurturing, Subaru tends to the exhausted Suzaku Warriors that descend upon her home. Though she is often exasperated by Tokaki's roving eye, she does love her husband. Unlike Tokaki, she feels that Miaka and Tamahome should enjoy what happiness they have, though she does agree with telling the pair that they could never have a happy ending.
She did not know that Tokaki had told Xi-Fang to seduce Tamahome, and is irritated that he would do such a thing, but is quickly preoccupied with the crises of Tatara and the Shinzaho's abduction from Byakko Temple and Miaka's running off, Subaru's time manipulation skills are revealed. With them, she brings Miaka's voice back.
