By the Sword (剣によって?), also known as , Yo-u, Yo-u - The Moegi and 妖 -YO U-, is a Japanese manga series created by Sanami Matoh, who is also the creator of -FAKE-.

[edit] Plot synopsis

By the Sword starts off by telling how a young man by the name of Asagi had been born with a rather mysterious power. This mysterious power allows him to slay demons, but this power can only be met through a sword. Due to the great will of this power, every sword that is generally used by Asagi is broken, which is why he now seeks the legendary sword, the Moegi. Within the story, Asagi will meet up with various other allies such as a young girl by the name of Kaede, and her father Kurenai. After the Moegi is attained, the general desire within this series is to retrieve Kurenai's body, due to him being only a spirit which explains his extreme smallness. When Asagi unleashes his Moegi, Kurenai's body will join up with Kaede due to his spirit needing to connect to another such force, and to reveal that he is not in the possession of a physical body. Other allies will be seen later in the series such as the famed spear wielder, Suoh, and his ally Rinrin, along with a woman by the name of Aoi that is of wolf origins. Asagi and the others will continue on their boundless adventure to bring Kurenai to his true self and the revealing of the truth.
