[edit] Summary
[edit] Differences to Super Series
The tournament follows the format of the Super Series tournament. There is no nationality separation, so players from same country may meet in the early round.
Because the tournament is one level lower than Super Series, the prize pot is smaller. Currently, the minimum prize money for Grand Prix Gold is US$120,000, and US$50,000 for Grand Prix events. The distribution is identical.[1]
32 players/pairs enter the main draw, except for men's singles, where organisers allow 64 players to enter (32 players are allowed in the Super Series).[2]
[edit] World Ranking points
They are no finale tournament as in Super Series, but players can improve their World Ranking and improve their chances of playing in the Super Series tournament. Below is the new World Ranking points introduced in 2007.[3]
