[edit] Continuity error? Really?

"In one episode, one of the character is seen ordering food from Pizza Planet, which appeared as an actual space-themed restaurant in Toy Story." This is listed under "Continuity Problems," the premise presumably being that since the cartoon is an actual cartoon in the Toy Story universe, it is problematic for the same restaurant to appear in both the cartoon and the "real" Toy Story universe. But is that actually an error? I haven't seen the episode, but it seems that there are two possibilities:

  • The "Pizza Planet" in question is an actual planet which is known for exporting food such as pizza. There is no reason this would present a problem; in the Toy Story universe it would merely be a pop culture reference--the fictional kids are probably supposed to realize "Pizza Planet, like the restaurant!" and find it humorous.
  • There exist actual Pizza Planet restaurants in the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command universe. Again, I fail to see how this is a problem. It would merely be a case of the (in-universe) writers putting something from their own world into the cartoon. Real televison writers do this, too; usually there are issues involved with one party paying the other, but that is beyond the scope of the cartoon itself.

I doubt that the writers actually had anything in mind beyond making a reference to the movies, but since there are such simple, realistic explanations possible, I have a hard time seeing it as an error; it's simply an unanswered question. --Andrusi 19:25, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

I don't think that's a continuity error either, though it is an interesting bit of trivia. FrozenPurpleCube 23:58, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Character Bios

I Belive more Character bio pages as well as technology/gear should be completed for a better more informative data source -- Awar 19:12, 27 April 2007 (UTC).

Well, other than Buzz Lightyear, I'm not sure there's enough on the characters to truly warrant their own individual articles, but an expanded section on the characters might be acceptable. The problem is finding good reliable sources. As for technology, well, unlike say, Star Trek, this show is not meant for adults, so the technology is not even so robustly examined as that show. Heck, they have traffic lights in space in this show. But hey, if you can find reliable sources that talk about them, feel free to add the content. FrozenPurpleCube 20:10, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
I think that each character of team lightyear could certainly fill up a bio. It would make more sense if there where pictures too. I think that the other characters, ones that come up once or twice or background characters, couldn't fill up a bio, but certainly the main characters could. Enchantz 01 August 2007

[edit] Storyline similar to Star Wars?

From what I see, the entire storyline of Buzz Lightyear is similar to Star Wars (especially episodes 4-6). Think of it this way: Buzz= Anakin Skywalker, XR= R2-D2, Mira= Princess Leia, Zurg= Darth Vader, and so on.Even some of the planets and people are similar to Star Wars. Should this be mentioned in the article? (There already are references to Star Wars within the article, might as well sum it up.) Abcw12 07:04, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Starcommand.jpg

Image:Starcommand.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
