Buzby

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Buzby - the yellow (or later orange) talking cartoon bird, was launched c. 1977 and was around well into the 1980s. Buzby appeared in a series of television commercials with the catchphrase: "Make someone happy with a phone call". Buzby was a marketing campaign by the then General Post Office (United Kingdom), which later became British Telecommunications (BT) and spawned many marketing items, such as toys, badges and books. The campaign attracted a great deal of publicity at the time, with the public either loving Buzby or loathing him.

Buzby's voice was provided by Bernard Cribbins.
