"Butterflies" is a song by Michael Jackson, written by neo-soul duo Floetry. It was to be the third single from Invincible, scheduled for release on February 12, 2002[citation needed]. For unexplained reasons, Sony cancelled the commercial release of the single[citation needed], sparking allegations by Jackson that Tommy Mottola (head of Sony) was a racist[citation needed]. The song was released to U.S. radio stations and reached #14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart from airplay[citation needed]. It also peaked at[citation needed]. A remix by hip-hop producers Track Masters featuring rapper Eve was also released.
