Butler is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Wanneroo. Its postcode is 6036.
Butler is a recently established suburb developed by Satterley's a Western Australian land development company. It has been marketed under the name of "Brighton Estate-Butler".
Butler is a carefully planned suburb based on social capital principles and the block sizes and locations were partially established with the aim of ensuring a diverse population.

There are regular buses to the local train station in Clarkson. Butler-Brighton has been particularly popular with immigrants, mostly from the United Kingdom but also from South Africa, New Zealand, West and Central Africa and South America. There is also a high Australian population living in the Brighton estate. Renowned portrait photographer Matt Caplin is also a resident of Butler; many of the photographs in his portfolio were taken in Butler.

Construction will start on residential apartments and a commercial building next to the village shopping centre. Two more stages of medium-density housing will be built near the proposed Lukin railway station, in Butler. A further 17 innovative medium-density display homes will be built near the proposed Brighton-Jindalee rail station. Brighton already has a village shopping precinct and professional offices, a lakeside amphitheatre and 17 parks and open spaces comprising 20ha. The extension of the northern rail line to Brighton is a step closer. The state government has agreed to fund further comprehensive planning for the new section. The 7.5km extension will take the trains from Clarkson to Butler with a park n ride station at Lukin Drive and a further station adjacent to the proposed district shopping centre."
Community Centre: "The new 2008 centre has a 200sqm hall, multi functional and meeting rooms, two office spaces, kitchen and toilet facilities, storage areas, change rooms, a kiosk and a sports amenities building. Outside, there are playgrounds suitable for children aged from one to 12, a bbq and breakout area and terraced limestone seating. The function hall will be suitable for a variety of events, low impact recreational activities, dances and other large group activities. Areas will be tailored for playgroups and children’s activities, craft groups and community meetings."
Butler Skate Park: "An $180,000 sports facility is in the design phase with renowned skate park designers Convic Design Trust successfully tendering for the project. The park will cater for skateboards, roller blades, push scooters and BMX. Children from primary school age through to early teenage years will be allowed to use it."
The ‘Shed’ "In 2005 Satterley and the Brighton Joint Venture hosted a Business and Employment Opportunities Forum which highlighted the need for locally based pre-apprenticeship training programs in building and construction. The forum and subsequent consultation with key stakeholders resulted in the ‘in-principle’ support for the provision of a Trade Skills Training Shed within the Brighton Estate. ‘The Shed’ is now operating, with the Brighton Joint Venture building the construction and West Coast and Swan TAFE delivering the training courses."

Butler is located approximately 40 kilometres north of the Perth CBD and is bounded to the south by the suburbs of Merriwa and Ridgewood , the west by Jindalee , the north by Alkimos and the east by Nowergup.
