Francis "Butch" Dingle was a fictional character on the ITV soap opera Emmerdale. He died in hospital of his injuries caused by a bus crash on March 24, 2000. He was played by Paul Loughran. The epitaph on Butch's tombstone is 'Dead but always a Dingle'.
