Pop Culture
JOE BRAXTON; the character Richard Pryor plays in Bustin' Loose, can be seen on t-shirts. They are very popular in the hip-hop community.
KKK; The scene most often mentioned from this film, involves a jittery RIchard Pryor walking through the woods and encountering members of the hate group. In the now infamous sequence, he walks in step with the hooded men, even nodding acknowledgement to a couple. Richard Pryor (or rather his character, Joe Braxton) convinces the klansmen to assist the broken bus so that he can help "these blind kids get to Washington". The scene is often shown on highlight clips of Richard Pryor on television.
