Buster's Spanish Rocketship

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Buster's Spanish Rocketship, the fourth album from David Johansen in his alter ego of Buster Poindexter and his Banshees of Blue, continued the "lounge rock" style of its predecessors in covering rhythm 'n' blues songs of the '40s and '50s. "Mean Spirited Sal" was the most popular track.

For this outing, the Banshees of Blue consisted of: Soozie Tyrell (vocals); Richard Barone (vocals); Brian Koonin (guitar, cuatro); Jack Bashkow (saxophone, piccolo); Kenny Fradley (trumpet); Byron Stripling (trumpet; Mark Pender (trumpet); Conrad Herwig (trombone); Jimmy Bosch (trombone); Randy Andos (bass trombone); Charley Giordano (accordion, piano); Andy Gonzales (bass); Brian Hamm (bass); Tony Machine (drums); Fred Walcott (percussion); Ismael "Bongo" Bruno (percussion); and Mike Jacobson (percussion).
