[edit] Classical Arabic page in English needs fixing
Hi! I saw on your user page that you speak both arabic and english, and I was wondering if you could help out with improving the Classical Arabic article. I'm trying to fix parts of it, unfortunately, my knowledge of classical arabic is quite limited. Any information you know would be appreciated, we need more arabic-speakers improving the articles on the arabic language. Thanks!--ikiroid | (talk) 22:03, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Francesco Totti Ro 211448s.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Francesco Totti Ro 211448s.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Translation request
Hello, I saw that you are a native speaker of Arabic, so I would like to ask you if you could take a look at 2003 invasion of Iraq and Iraq War. There is a featured article in Arabic which we would like to know how it could be used the English one which is of course dominated by people who have either been there as soldiers or have their knowledge from western media. Someone also asked if the section about "related propaganda and phrases" could be amplified with information about the Iraqi side. Maybe there are also people who took photos in Iraq at the Arabic version? Nameme 14:45, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- Well, Member ThirtyTwo already put up the main diffrences but there are a few propaganda things that could be added.
- First, The first picture in the arabic article is Saddam walking in bagdad only 5 days before his statue was torn down taken from Iraqi television. The caption also states that Saddam's name for the the Invasion was "Al-Hawasem". It's a very hard word to translate but it sort of means "Ending our issues" or "ending our grudges", That's a weak translation though. I'll try to get a better one. Also, the arabic article states that there was suicide attacks by Iraqis at Baghdad Airport including two ladies who issued their intentions through Iraqi television.
- Finally, Shouldn't Mohamed Saed Al-Sahaff be included in propgranda and related phrases for the Iraqi Side? Burning phoneix 10:07, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:1048738-Al_Baik-Jiddah.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:1048738-Al_Baik-Jiddah.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

[edit] Trolls in Saudi Arabia talk page
Hello. May I suggest that you read Wikipedia:Trolls? (or in short, just this: Not feeding the trolls). Talk pages are not supposed to be a blog or general chatter; but as you can see in the talk page of the Saudi Arabia article, once a troll is fed, it escalates and gets out of control. Best way is to ignore trolls altogether (even though sometimes they come in form of questions apparently in good faith) and later slow removal. Have a nice day. - Eagletalk 08:31, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New article you may want to edit
Greetings Burning phoneix I found you through Category:Wikipedians in Saudi Arabia. I've started a new article about Saudi Arabia's first feature film: Keif al-hal?. I invite you to contribute to it if such an article might interest you. Thanks. :-) (→Netscott) 13:52, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Amputations in KSA
Since you're a Saudi, I was wondering if you could clear something up for me. I know that amputations of the hands and feet are punishments in Saudi, but how are they carried out? Are you taken to a hospital, put under general anesthesia, have your appendages surgically removed in a painless manner, then sent home with an RX for painkillers and antibiotics, or do they just hold you down and start sawing things off with a knife, al-Qaeda style? Roland Deschain 07:06, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- i'm sure he ain't gonna give u an answer to that... it doesn't go hand in hand with the "Religion of Peace" advertisement campaign that they're trying to pull. Oren neu dag (talk) 00:53, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Alexandervonfalkenhausen.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Alexandervonfalkenhausen.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 11:05, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Samba logo.gif
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Samba logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:32, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:GoleoIV.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:GoleoIV.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 16:31, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Pictures for Tash ma Tash
One of your projects is to add pictures for Tash ma Tash. I have excellent pictures of all the principals.... plus more, and they are copyright free since I took them. I'll be glad to forward them to you if you are interested. [edit] Image source problem with Image:Alwehdaback2.gif
This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Alwehdaback2.gif. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:40, 7 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. Rettetast 11:38, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Majed87.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Majed87.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:56, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Alexandervonfalkenhausen.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Alexandervonfalkenhausen.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 22:10, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
