You'll find the place to be interesting, fascinating, and intriguing. When you're not struggling to get some arcane point across. And sometimes even then.

You'll find a full collection of editing tips, WPetiquette, and other such housekeeping things by looking into the Community portal off to the left. And, if you're really interested in crypto, you might try the WikiProject Cryptography page, where there are some pointers to crypto articles, stuff that needs to be done, and so on.
