[edit] Merge articles?

Given the announced name change of the new merger district Burgenland to Burgenlandkreis, we could also treat this as the incorporation of the district of Weißenfels into the (old) Burgenlandkreis. I don't think the old district Burgenlandkreis needs a separate article then, since the name didn't change (in the end). Markussep Talk 07:49, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

For the moment I am against a Merger, as the article is also separate in de-wiki which is the base source for us now. Technically all the districts effected by this reform are new districts even if they kept the same name, but BLK is a bit special as it was named differently for a little while. If anything revisit the idea of a merger once everything has settled down across several wikis maybe in a month time or so. Agathoclea 07:51, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
The temporary name change complicates matters, but in the end it's more like the situation at Wittenberg (district), that was expanded with part of Anhalt-Zerbst, but didn't get a new article (although they are different legal bodies, see de:Landkreis Wittenberg#Verwaltungsgeschichte). Maybe the articles will merge in de: in the end, there's no rush anyway. Markussep Talk 08:19, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
