Though this image is subject to copyright, its use is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

  1. It is a historically significant photo of a historic event
  2. It is of much lower resolution than the original (copies made from it will be of very inferior quality).
  3. The photo is only being used for informational purposes.
  4. The photo is of promotional nature and does not negatively interfere with the ability of Russian Space Agency to sell service of An-225s or to use Buran technology
  5. Its inclusion in the article adds significantly to the articles because it shows the intended way to use An-225 and Buran that was only done once in the history of Russian spaceflight and discussed in the articles
