[edit] Boundaries

The Bury South constituency covers the towns of Radcliffe, Whitefield and Prestwich, a notable Jewish area. Strangely, the Bury South constituency includes the Bolton area of Breightmet, which borders with Bury. The name of the seat is misleading as it does not contain any area of the town of Bury itself, but only towns in the south of the borough. It has swung strongly in Labour's favour since that party regained it in 1997.
