The Burroughes Building was built in Toronto in 1907 as the flagship department store for the FC Burroughes Furniture Company. It is a unique example of New York style architecture in Canada.[citation needed]
The National Post stated that Queen Street Partners repositioned The Burroughes Building by bringing "gentrification [to Toronto] and spreading it... affecting more than just retail space."[1]
