[edit] History

The village is known as one of the former homes of Laura Ingalls Wilder (author of the Little House on the Prairie books) (1876-1877). This is where Grace Ingalls, the youngest of the Ingalls children, was born in 1877. There is a Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum in the local Masters Hotel.
