[edit] Biography
Following the release of 2 EPs, the band is about to release their first single in spanish titled "Espanha". Songs set in this new single explore the usual punk, post-hardcore styles of the band previous works, but also merges new elements from drum n bass, latin rock and old school classic metal
Their first EP Spotlight was recorded in 2005/06 and released on Galeries Des Machines Records. Spotlight featured a more emo sound while the songs general attitude was directed to alternative punk and melodic hardcore. This album was sold out only a few weeks later after it's release and is extremely hard to find nowadays.
La Mecánica de las Cosas, their second EP started to include more experimentation on composition and musical regards. New dynamics, harmonization twists, and odd rhythm structures where added to the band's sound. Public reception and critics reviews gave Burning Metro it's actual label of math rock, post-hardcore music, although it's really different to other -more purists- examples of the genre.
Shortly after the release of La Mecánica de las Cosas the band went into a temporary hiatus following the dismissal of Nicholas Staub from the band. Burning Metro didn't play for several months until the end of the year 2007 when Joaquin Romera joined to fill in.
With this new formation the band started to tour again through different spots in the Buenos Aires state, and also began to write new material. Once again public media set eyes on the band helping them to reach new audiences.
They have been recently described in Global-Art as the only math rock band from Argentina.
