Burnhamthorpe Road

Burnhamthorpe Road is a east-west route running in the cities of Toronto, Mississauga, Ontario and the Town of Oakville, Ontario. The road was named after the birth place of settler John Abelson (Ontario), Burnham Thorpe.[1]

The eastern end of the roadway starts at Dundas Street West in Toronto, but most the road is in Mississauga. The Toronto portion runs in a well established residential neighbourhood.

The western end of the roadway is broken up by Sixteen Mile Creek and Highway 407 (Ontario) in Oakville, Ontario and is a rural route surrounded by farm land and large residential properties. A broken section runs west of the 407/Sixteen Mile Creek and ends at Tremaine Road.
