Burlington Sound of Music

The Sound of Music Festival is held annually in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. It is held in mid-June and is a cross-genre festival that spreads along the city's lakefront Spencer Smith Park and into the downtown core. Popular music bands which have played in recent years include Finger Eleven, Sloan, Project Orange, Out Of Options, David Usher, The Tea Party, The Trews, Westpoint, Jacksoul, Brian Byrne, Knacker, Idle sons, and David Wilcox.

Joan Lougheed, a former Burlington city councillor, is a Founding Director of the Sound of Music Festival Inc.

The 2007 festival will help celebrate 60th Anniversary of the Burlington Teen Tour Band, Canada's oldest youth marching band. Celebrations, including a homecoming reunion, a concert and participation in the parade, are being planned to mark this anniversary. More information is available at the BTTB Alumni Web page.

The festival's mascot is Mr. Treble.
