Buria is a Russian word meaning storm or tempest. In Cyrillic Buria is spelled БУРЯ.
In addition, Buria is a Slovenian surname.
Buria is also a city and a municipal committee in Yamunanagar district in the state of Haryana, India. This is the town settled in the name of Birbal, the court advisor of Akbar.[1]

As of 2001 India census,[2] Buria had a population of 9829. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Buria has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 65% and female literacy of 50%. 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Buria is also the name of clan of people in Jats.[1]
