[edit] Description

An advertisement for the chain proclaims Burger World as serving "food that's purty good". Burger World is an obvious parody of McDonald's, as the familiar twin arches are inverted to form a W, and the color and shape of the sign and the exterior appearance of the restaurant are virtually the same. A Burger World logo used inside the restaurant (with the letters BW inside a hamburger bun) also bears a resemblance to the classic Burger King logo.

[edit] Premise

A franchise of the chain is the part-time employer of Beavis and Butt-head, and the first mention of Burger World occurs in the episode Customers Suck. Beavis and Butt-head usually assume grill and drive-thru/front register duties, respectively. The duo are completely incompetent in their job, often incapable of performing even the easiest of duties required for their job including taking a customer's order. Instead of focusing on their work, the duo engage in hijinks including frying worms in the fry vat, cooking rats and bugs (which were later served to Mr. Anderson), and throwing food at the store's ceiling fans. Butt-Head once turned up at the restaurant with Beavis serving him, before going outside constantly kicking the drive-thru menu board causing the vibrations to hurt Beavis's ears. Their antics have caused the franchise to be closed by the local health department on at least one occasion. Usually, the restaurant is empty, implying that the two have managed to drive away many customers, or is very full when the two are absent.

The episode It's a Miserable Life, from the Beavis and Butt-head Christmas Special, depicted an alternate future in which Butt-Head had never been born. As a result of this change, Burger World's business is booming and it even has a playground (something that was never there before, an obvious reference to the McDonald's PlayPlace).
