[edit] History
Burger Time's first location opened in Fargo, North Dakota in August 1987, and it quickly opened more locations upon its initial success [1]. The company was initially privately owned. Doug Geeslin, a Fargo, North Dakota based investor, purchased the company from its founder. In 2004, Sten Corporation (NASDAQ: STEN), a medical devices company, purchased Burger Time from Geeslin for about $3 million[2]. On April 29, 2007, Sten sold Burger Time to BTND LLC, a Colorado limited liability company owned by Burger Time President Gary Copperud for $1,806,319, and accepted all liabilaties[3].

[edit] Types
Burger Time primarily operates restaurants which offer only drive through or walk up service. Most restaurants offer two drive through lanes (one on each side, so the left side is typically used by vehicles with someone sitting in the front seat). There is typically an outdoor seating area available, as well as extra parking for those who wish to eat in their vehicles. However, the Fergus Falls, Minnesota and North Dakota State University locations offer an indoor seating area.
[edit] Products
Burger Time offers burgers, french fries, soft drinks, and other typical fast food fare, sold in combinations or a la carte. Their signature item is the "Bigger Burger", a 1/3rd pound burger. Burger Time also offers BBQ rib and chicken sandwiches, as well as apple pie. The "Bigger Burger" combo accounts for 80% of a typical location's sales. [6]
[edit] Advertising
Burger Time uses the slogans "It's Burgertime!", and "More good food for the money". Their "Bigger Burger" is advertised as being larger than that of their competitors, while being sold at a less expensive price. A price comparison sheet is often posted at the walk up windows showing Burger Time's prices compared to McDonalds and Burger King.
Many of the company's marquees and packaging materials include the inscription "Thank you and † Happy Day". The company founder donated half of his profits to religious causes.
