Burdigalian

Burdigalian is a age of the early Miocene Epoch. It spans the time between 20.43 ± 0.05 Ma and 15.97 ± 0.05 Ma (million years ago). It is named after Burdigala, the original name for Bordeaux, France.
One famous palaeonologic locality is the Turritellenplatte of Ermingen in Germany.
