Bung Mokhtar Radin

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bung Mokhtar Radin is a Malaysian politician and a Member of Parliament from the constituency of Kinabatangan in Sabah. He is a member of United Malays National Organisation (UMNO). He became known as the MP who uttered sexist comments in Parliament during the 11th Malaysian Parliament sitting in 2007. His comments were aimed at another MP Fong Po Kuan, where he stated that even Fong 'leaks' every month while discussing about building leakages. He later made a formal apology to all Malaysian women.[1]

He came into the spotlight again as early as the first day of the 12th Malaysian Parliament sitting on April 30, 2008 after being called the 'Bigfoot of Kinabatangan' by Karpal Singh. Radin retaliated by calling Karpal Singh a 'Big Monkey'.[2]

During the 12th Malaysian Parliament sitting in May, Radin became involved again in another controversy involving disabled people. He and another MP (Ibrahim Ali) had asked a wheelchair-bound MP Karpal Singh to stand up and show respect to the speaker.[3]
