Bundesgartenschau
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Bundesgartenschau (abbr. BUGA) is the biannual Federal horticulture show in Germany. It also covers topics like landscaping. Taking place in different cities, the location changes in a two-year cycle. The next BUGA is arranged by the two cities Gera and Ronneburg from April 27th to October 14th, 2007.
With a high budget, extensive landscape architectures and gardenings are realized that support the regional development objectives in the respective cites. A good general discussion on the history of the Bundesgartenschau can be found in Grounds for Review: The Garden Festival in Urban Planning and Design" by Andrew Theokas.
