The Bulgarian Collaboration Project is an effort to fill gaps in the English Wikipedia through translation of high quality articles from the Bulgarian Wikipedia and, generally, to improve the quality of articles in the English Wikipedia.

The Bulgarian Collaboration Project maintains both a list of High Priority Translations (that anyone is encouraged to work on at any time) and (chosen from this list) a selected Translation of the Month.

Articles selected for translation may be chosen from the Bulgarian language Wikipedia Quality Articles or more generally from any Bulgarian language articles judged solid, accurate, and free of copyright issues, and having no article or a basic stub page on the English Wikipedia. The aim is to develop, through widespread co-operative translation, featured-standard articles, or at least ones of high quality, on subjects which may not otherwise have been addressed on the English Wikipedia.

Previous winners can be found at /History.
Removed nominations can be found at the main page for requested translations into English.

[edit] Translation of the Month

Anyone can nominate an article (from the list of high priority translations) and can vote for the nominated articles. Every month, the votes are tallied, and the winner will be promoted to potential contributors.

Anyone, no matter what their level of fluency in Bulgarian or English, is welcome to lend a hand. Remember, be bold in your translations. If your written English is not perfect, someone will be more than willing to fix up any mistakes that you may make. And as always, if you see a mistake in the article that is being translated, don't be afraid to correct it after checking the relevant talk pages for any relevant information. As for any Wikipedia article, expansion of the article with appropriate material is also welcome.

[edit] Voting

Please vote for as many of the candidates as you like. Please add only support votes. Opposing votes will not affect the result, as the winner is simply the one with the most support votes (see Approval voting).

Only registered users should vote. Any Wikipedian can vote on this page. You do not have to speak Bulgarian.

To enter your votes, simply edit the appropriate sections by just inserting a new line with "# ~~~~". This will add your username and a time stamp in a new numbered list item.

[edit] Tie-breakers

In case of a tie, the candidate that was nominated first wins.

[edit] Nominations

It is highly recommended that nominated articles have a high quality equivalent in the Bulgarian language. These can be usually found among Bulgarian Quality Articles. Check also Wikipedia:Featured articles in other languages#Bulgarian for featured articles that are not as detailed or don't exist in English.

[edit] High Priority Translations

Feel free to add to this list, and please give reasons for the article's inclusion.

[edit] Translating an article

Make sure you add this template at the top of the article of the month: {{FCPMonth|[[:bg:pagename]]}}

Finally, the original article should be wikilinked back to us: [[en:pagename]] Replacing "pagename" with the actual title in each instant, of course.

Add a references section, citing the Bulgarian Wikipedia article as a source (you can do this by typing {{subst:BGref|:bg:pagename|date}} in the references section). An example is shown below:
