Bullwood Hall (HM Prison)

Bullwood Hall is a prison in Hockley, Essex, England. It was built in the 1960s as a female borstal. It was featured in a series of six 30 minute documentaries made in 2002 titled "The real bad girls"[1]. It served as a women's prison until 2006 when it was announced that it would turn into a male prison due to a shortage of male prison places. Its capacity in 2006 was 184.
